Support and documentation conferences: what's left in 2026

Seven support and documentation conferences are left in 2026. The soonest is LavaCon in Charlotte (Oct 25–28), followed straight away by Support Driven's New York Summit (Oct 27–29), which is sold out.

November is the busy month: tekom's free online Technology Day (Nov 2), tcworld in Stuttgart (Nov 10–12), TCUK26 online (Nov 11) and KMWorld in Washington, DC (Nov 16–19). Write the Docs Australia closes the year in Melbourne on Dec 3–4.

Here are the dates, prices, and who each one is aimed at, with links to register. Vendor-run sales conferences are left out, since those exist to sell you the host’s product rather than to compare notes with peers (not as fun imo). The ones that already happened this year are listed at the bottom.

LavaCon, Oct 25–28, Charlotte + online

LavaCon says its audience is content strategists, technical writers, and documentation and knowledge managers, covering content strategy and API documentation alike. There are more than 70 sessions and workshops, and this year's AI track is about getting AI out of the experiment stage and into everyday content ops. The virtual pass is $850 against $2,550 in person.

Support Driven Summit, Oct 27–29, New York

This one’s for directors, team leads, and ops managers, and it’s hosted at Assembled’s office in New York. Tickets are sold out, so unless you already have one, the useful bits now are the published agenda and speaker list on their site.

tekom Technology Day, Nov 2, online

A free day of live online talks and panels from tekom, the German technical-communication association, held a week before its big Stuttgart fair. Topics include content processes, AI and knowledge management. Two things to know: this year it runs in German only, and the talks are not recorded.

tcworld conference, Nov 10–12, Stuttgart

The main tekom event, and the biggest one on this list: 7,800+ attendees and visitors, around 200 sessions in German and English, and the tekom fair running alongside it. Topics run from AI and terminology to law, standards and UX. Recordings of selected sessions stay available until February 2027.

• €1,680 for non-members, €1,250 for tekom members, for all three days (plus VAT). The early bird ended Oct 19. Two-day and one-day tickets are cheaper

KMWorld, Nov 16–19, Washington, DC

The long-running knowledge management conference, aimed at knowledge managers and the people who run enterprise search, taxonomy and KM programs. Workshops are on Nov 16 and the main conference runs Nov 17–19. Enterprise AI World and Taxonomy Boot Camp share the venue, and the pricier passes get you into those too.

Write the Docs Australia, Dec 3–4, Melbourne

The last docs conference of the year: two days of talks, lightning talks and a fishbowl session about software documentation, with around 200 people expected. Like the other Write the Docs events, it’s community-run, and there’s a virtual ticket if Melbourne is a long way off.

• TCUK26, the ISTC’s annual conference, is free and online over Zoom on November 11. You only need a name and email to register

Between conferences, the Write the Docs meetups run year-round: London every third Thursday, plus a virtual East Coast group every other Friday that anyone can join from anywhere.

Which support and docs conference deadlines close first?

KMWorld’s conference pass is $1,695, and tcworld’s early bird closed on October 19.

The two free events, tekom’s Technology Day (Nov 2) and TCUK26 (Nov 11), only need a sign-up. Support Driven’s New York Summit is sold out, and Write the Docs Australia’s opportunity grants closed October 2, though tickets are still on sale.

Of the paid conferences still ahead: LavaCon is aimed at documentation and knowledge people, KMWorld at knowledge managers, tcworld at technical communicators, and Write the Docs Australia at anyone who writes docs.
